The Kansas of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/3/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Walt’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 8 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- In the kitchen, one female employee licked her finger to grab single use deli paper. (COS)Stopped female employee and educated her. Female employee discarded the deli paper.
- In the kitchen, female employee grabbed raw hamburger patties and continued to grab hamburger buns without washing her hands. (COS)Educated female employee to wash her hands after handling raw meat. Buns were discarded.
- (1)In the small cooler, there were two Ziploc bags of hot dogs that did not have a date mark on the bags. Employee were not sure when the hot dogs were open. (COS)PIC discarded the hot dogs. (2)In the front counter, the ice cream machine had some ice cream that was foaming, the ice cream also had a bad Oder to it that smelled like spoiled milk. The temperature of the ice cream was 32f. Employee stated that the ice cream machine sometimes doesn’t work properly. (COS)Ice cream was discarded.
- In the kitchen, female employee was placing ketchup inside to go box of fries, while employee placed ketchup inside the to go box she accidentally touched the fries with her fingers. (COS)PIC discarded the four fries she touched with her bare hands(fingers).
- The following foods were inside the make table cooler since 10:30AM and temped above 41f. 1)Shredded cheese temped 50.2f 2)White squared american cheese temped 44.2f The ambient temperature of the make table cooler was 47.7f. (COS)PIC will use time as control until the cooler is fixed.
- PIC did not have a food thermometer at the moment.
- A test kit was not provided for their chlorine sanitizer. PIC was able to make sanitizer.
- On the bottom (floor) of the soda machine, there were 12 fresh rodent droppings. Advised pic to call pest control. Note:There were more old rodent droppings on the back of refrigerators.
