Kansas Department of Agriculture’s (KDA) food safety and lodging program conducted an expected follow-up retail food inspection on 9/9/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations The Anchor was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations.
The restaurant has failed to be, “In Compliance” at six inspections since June 2018:
The inspector made the following comment in support of the single violation found during the inspection:
- There was one live cockroach on the floor near the kitchen hand sink, and one dying cockroach on the floor near the mop sink. There are several (at least 10-15) appropriately placed glue traps throughout the kitchen and storage areas. Establishment has switched to a new pest management company, and the last visit was yesterday 9/8/20. Person in charge (PIC) said they will be visiting twice per week until the problem is eliminated. Due to the improvement observed at today’s visit, the next follow-up inspection will be scheduled for sixty days.
