The Kansas of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 22, 2020 following a complaint. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Super Buffet also known as New Asian Super Buffet in Wichita was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of XX violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- In the kitchen, one male employee was handling raw squid and raw duck. The male employee grabbed a container of RTE boiled eggs and placed his fingers inside the ice water that contained the RTE boiled eggs without washing his hands or placing gloves on. (COS)Educated PIC that employee must wash hands after handling raw meats. RTE boiled eggs were discarded.
- Male employee in the kitchen was washing his hands inside the kitchen 3 vat sink with no soap and water. (COS) Educated employee to wash his hands in the hand wash sink with soap and water.
- In the kitchen, male employee grabbed ice scooper (utensil) from the ice machine and used it to stir raw duck inside the 3 vat sink. Male employee then placed the scooper back on top of the ice machine. (COS)Educated PIC that utensil must be washed and sanitized before use. Stopped staff before they used the ice scooper. Scooper was washed.
- (1) In the room with the water heater, there was 24 fresh rodent droppings on the floor on the sides of the water heater. Educated PIC to place more traps inside the room and let pest control know. (2)Inside the Mongolian grill room, there was one teenage roach inside a white bucket. Employee killed the roach.
