Kansas Department of Agriculture’s (KDA) food safety and lodging program conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/28/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Kwik Stop was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- In the reach in cooler in the back storage room, there were hot dogs, cheddar brawts and tequito’s dated for 8 days 8/25- 9/3. On the retail floor at the Coffee creamer self serve station, the creamers were labeled for 8 days 8/25- 9/3. COS dated for 7 days
- In the back storage room next to the cash register station, there was 1 live cockroach climbing up the door. A work order has been put in for the pest control company as per employee. In the back storage room, there was approximately 75 fresh mouse droppings behind equipment. A work order has been put in with the pest control company as per employee. Note: Pest control company observed no issues in facility as per employee
- In the back storage room by the front cash registers station, there was a spray bottle of clear liquid with not label. The contents of spray bottle were unknown as per employee. Note: No leakage observed COS discarded bottle
- In the back storage room by the front cash register station, there was a case of Disinfecting cleaner next packages of donuts, gum and containers of mustard. Note: no leakage observed COS moved cleaner
