Subway in McPherson fumbles inspection; Food prep sink is directly plumbed to sewage line

The Kansas of Department Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/17/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Subway in McPherson was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Food prep sink is directly plumbed to sewage line, during inspection colander of tomatoes is placed below flood rim of 3 vat sink to wash produce, this sink is also connected to a garbage disposal. REPEAT after indirectly plumbed last year.  REPEAT violation
  • No quaternary ammonia test strips available for ware washing REPEAT violation.
