The Other Place in Olathe fails inspection; Visible winged insects inside bottle of Jeremiah Weed

The Other Place American Sports Grill and Pizzeria

The Kansas of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 20, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the The Other Place American Sports Grill and Pizzeria was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • At the bar, one bottle of Jeremiah Weed was being stored with visible winged insects inside.[repeat] Corrected on site (COS ) = Discarded
  • One container of raw sausage was being stored in a plastic container, with lid(no Leakage) directly on top of a container holding RTE pepperoni with a lid. In the Refrigerated sandwich prep table. In the Walk in cooler, Bags of raw sausage were being stored on a wire rack(no leakage) directly over a sealed package of RTE roast beef. COS = All cooler’s rearranged
  • In the sandwich make table, Swiss cheese was holding at 51F. The ambient temperature of the cooler was 33.8F per min/max. Person in charge (PIC) said it had been in the cooler overnight.[repeat] COS = Discarded
  • In the dish area, one spray bottle of clear liquid was being stored without a label of common name. Person in charge said it was bleach. COS = Labeled
