The Kansas of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 6, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Sonic Drive-In was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Team member cutting lemons with bare hands at prep area. COS, discarded lemons, educated.
- In ware wash area stored clean a dicer and a slicer with food debris. PIC stated that the dicer and slicer was used 24 hours ago.
- Three ants crawling on wall near soda syrup and hand washing sink. PIC stated that they receive pest elimination service once a month. Last date of service 12/16/2019. In the service report ant activity was mentioned. Educated.
- A bottle of nasal spray and a chap stick stored above the area where ready to serve food is place. COS, Educated. Items removed and stored on person.
