The Kansas of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 6, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the McDonald’s Restaurant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Grill cook with blue gloves picked up a piece of paper off of the floor and disposed gloves and paper without a hand washing proceeded to put on a new pair of gloves to continue the cooking process of hamburgers. COS, educated, employee washed hands before donning gloves.
- In the WIC on a speed rack labeled Chicken Only, raw breaded chicken in a sealed plastic bag on flat plastic tray is stored above cooked gravy stored in a plastic container with a lid. No leakage detected. PIC discarded gravy.
- A small tub of gravy stored in WIC in a plastic container with lid. The lid has condensation on it. The gravy has a temperature of 91F. PIC stated that the gravy was prepared today and began cooling at 10:30am, the current time is 1:20pm. PIC stated that this product is normally discarded at the end of service. COS, discarded.
- Individual serving butter containers stored in a meal box on front counter temp at 69F. PIC stated that the butter was sat out at 10:00am. COS, Educated, placed in WIC to rapid cool.
- On a wired shelving unit in the warewash area stored clean and dried 2 small plastic food container lids, one with cracks the other one melted. COS, PIC discard.
- In the warewash area stored clean and dry several plastic pans (15) and lids with grease residue. Two plastic white pans with sticker residue. COS, PIC placed in warewash sink to be cleaned and sanitize.
- Hose at service sink is hanging below the flood rim. COS, PIC cut hose to 1 inch above rim.
- In back storeroom several bags of sidewalk salt stored in direct contact with take home paper bags. No contamination detected. COS, PIC rearranged.
