2nd time in Feb King’s Buffet in Dodge City, “Did not cease operations and notify KDA of the imminent health hazard of sewer back up the ware washing and prep sink floor drain”

King’s Buffet

The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/2/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the King’s Buffet was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Customer self serve buffet: ready to eat fried tilapia 96 F, ready to eat fried tilapia #2 92 F. The fish was cooked approximately 3/4 hour prior then placed on the buffet to hot hold, as per employee. (COS-employee elected to discard the fish). Repeat
  • The Licensee did not cease operations and notify KDA of the imminent health hazard of sewer back up from the ware washing and prep sink floor drain. (COS-excessive amounts of food debris was removed from the drain). Repeat
